BACKUP POWER SUPPLY METHOD AND RELATED DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240136818 titled 'BACKUP POWER SUPPLY METHOD AND RELATED DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

Embodiments of this application disclose a method and device for managing backup power supply in a station. The method involves calculating battery capacity based on historical data, monitoring power outages, and adjusting energy saving levels accordingly.

  • The method calculates battery capacity based on historical power outage alarm information and power consumption data.
  • When a power outage occurs, the method calculates the state of charge of the battery based on actual power consumption and outage duration.
  • The method sends a current target energy saving level to the station to adjust power saving policies based on the battery's state of charge.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various industries where uninterrupted power supply is critical, such as telecommunications, data centers, and emergency response systems.

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the challenge of efficiently managing backup power supply in stations by using historical data to optimize energy saving levels and ensure uninterrupted operation during power outages.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved reliability of backup power supply, reduced energy consumption, and optimized energy saving policies based on real-time data.

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications of this technology include power management systems for stations, smart grid solutions, and energy-efficient infrastructure for critical facilities.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be traditional backup power systems that do not utilize historical data to optimize energy saving levels and battery capacity calculations.

What is the impact of this technology on energy efficiency in stations?

This technology significantly improves energy efficiency in stations by accurately calculating battery capacity and adjusting energy saving levels based on historical data, leading to reduced energy consumption and optimized power management.

How does this technology enhance the reliability of backup power supply in critical facilities?

By continuously monitoring power outages, calculating battery state of charge, and adjusting energy saving levels, this technology ensures the reliability of backup power supply in critical facilities, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted operation.

Original Abstract Submitted

embodiments of this application disclose a backup power supply method and a related device. the method includes: calculating a battery capacity of a battery based on historical power outage alarm information and historical power consumption information of a station in which the battery is located; if a power outage occurs in the station, calculating a state of charge of the battery based on actual power consumption and power outage duration of the station, and the battery capacity; and sending a current target energy saving level of the battery to the station if it is determined, based on the state of charge, that an energy saving level of the battery changes, so that the station uses a power saving policy corresponding to the target energy saving level.
