IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240106966 titled 'IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application addresses the issue of decreased accuracy in color adjustment due to high-frequency density unevenness on a test chart used to obtain sensor reading characteristics. The solution involves correction processing of a reading sensor in a scan unit to generate a correction table for sensor shading correction after removing high-frequency density unevenness through color adjustment processing.

  • Explanation of the patent/innovation:
   * Correction processing is performed on a reading sensor to generate a correction table for sensor shading correction.
   * High-frequency density unevenness is removed in advance through color adjustment processing.
   * The correction processing improves the accuracy of color adjustment by addressing sensor shading issues.

      1. Unanswered Questions:
        1. How does the correction processing impact the overall performance of the scan unit?

The correction processing improves the accuracy of color adjustment by addressing sensor shading issues, leading to more precise color reproduction in images.

        1. What are the potential limitations of the correction processing method?

The correction processing method may require additional computational resources and time, potentially affecting the overall efficiency of the color adjustment process.

Original Abstract Submitted

there is a possibility that the accuracy of color adjustment decreases due to high-frequency density unevenness on a test chart that is used in a case where sensor reading characteristics are obtained. the present disclosure solves this by correction processing (generating a correction table for sensor shading correction processing) of a reading sensor configuring a scan unit after removing high-frequency density unevenness in advance by performing color adjustment processing (head shading correction processing).
