COUPLER AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18542619 titled 'COUPLER AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a coupler for use in a wireless communication device, with specific features such as signal input and output ends, coupling and isolation ends, main signal hole, and coupling hole on a PCB.

  • Signal input end, signal output end, coupling end, isolation end, main signal hole, and first coupling hole are key components of the coupler.
  • The main signal hole connects the signal input and output ends, while the first coupling hole connects the coupling and isolation ends on the PCB.
  • The first end of the main signal hole and first coupling hole are close to one side of the PCB, while the second ends are close to the other side.

Potential Applications

The coupler can be used in various wireless communication devices such as antennas, transceivers, and amplifiers.

Problems Solved

The coupler helps in efficiently transferring signals between different components of a wireless communication device while maintaining isolation where necessary.

Benefits

The coupler improves signal transmission quality, reduces interference, and enhances overall performance of wireless communication devices.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology can be applied in 5G networks, IoT devices, satellite communication systems, and radar systems.

Possible Prior Art

Prior art may include similar coupler designs used in RF and microwave applications, but specific details may vary.

The materials used and their impact on the functionality of the coupler are not mentioned in the abstract.

Original Abstract Submitted

A coupler for use in a wireless communication device includes a signal input end, a signal output end, a coupling end, an isolation end, a main signal hole, and a first coupling hole disposed on a PCB. A first end of the main signal hole is coupled to the signal input end. A second end of the main signal hole is coupled to the signal output end. A first end of the first coupling hole is coupled to the coupling end. A second end of the first coupling hole is coupled to the isolation end. In a thickness direction of the PCB, the first end of the first coupling hole and the first end of the main signal hole are close to a first side of the PCB, and the second end of the first coupling hole and the second end of the main signal hole are close to a second side of the PCB.
