DATA RETRANSMISSION METHOD, NAV VALUE CONTROL METHOD, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18540169 titled 'DATA RETRANSMISSION METHOD, NAV VALUE CONTROL METHOD, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a data retransmission method that involves sending a data frame to an electronic device, receiving an acknowledgement frame with acknowledgement information, and retransmitting data if needed within a specified retransmission period.

  • The method involves sending a data frame to an electronic device.
  • An acknowledgement frame is received from the electronic device within a transmission opportunity duration.
  • The acknowledgement frame includes first acknowledgement information.
  • If the first acknowledgement information indicates that data needs to be retransmitted, the method involves retransmitting the necessary data within a specified retransmission period.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various communication systems where data retransmission is necessary to ensure reliable data transfer.

Problems Solved

This method helps in addressing issues related to data loss or corruption during transmission by allowing for efficient retransmission of data when needed.

Benefits

The method ensures data integrity and reliability by retransmitting any lost or corrupted data, leading to improved overall data transmission quality.

Potential Commercial Applications

This technology could be valuable in industries such as telecommunications, networking, and IoT devices where reliable data transmission is crucial for operations.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be existing data retransmission protocols used in communication systems to ensure data reliability.

Unanswered Questions

How does this method handle multiple retransmission requests for the same data frame?

The article does not specify how the method deals with multiple retransmission requests for the same data frame. This could be an important aspect to consider in scenarios where data loss is frequent.

What impact does the retransmission period have on overall data transmission efficiency?

The article does not discuss the potential impact of the retransmission period on the efficiency of data transmission. Understanding this aspect could provide insights into optimizing the retransmission process for better performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

A data retransmission method is provided herein. The method includes sending a data frame to an electronic device and receiving an acknowledgement frame from the electronic device within a transmission opportunity duration, where the acknowledgement frame includes first acknowledgement information; and when the first acknowledgement information indicates that at least a part of data in the data frame needs to be retransmitted and further indicates a retransmission period required to complete the retransmission, retransmitting information related to the at least the part of the data to the electronic device in the retransmission period.
