ELECTRONIC APPARATUS FOR IDENTIFYING AN OPERATING STATE OF A ROBOT DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18531165 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS FOR IDENTIFYING AN OPERATING STATE OF A ROBOT DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The electronic apparatus described in the patent application is designed to monitor the movement patterns of a robot device to identify whether it is operating normally or abnormally. Here is a simplified explanation of the patent application:

  • The electronic apparatus includes a communication interface, a sensor, a memory with data on movement patterns, and at least one processor.
  • The processor can determine the movement pattern of the robot device based on signal strength or sensor data, and classify its operating state as normal or abnormal.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and security for monitoring the operation of robotic devices.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in quickly identifying abnormal behavior in robot devices, allowing for timely intervention and maintenance to prevent potential malfunctions or accidents.

Benefits

The electronic apparatus provides real-time monitoring of robot devices, improving overall operational efficiency and safety in various applications.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology could be utilized by companies that rely on robotic devices for their operations, such as manufacturing plants, hospitals, and security firms.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be systems that monitor the performance of machinery or equipment in industrial settings to detect anomalies and prevent breakdowns.

What are the limitations of this technology in terms of scalability and adaptability to different types of robot devices?

This technology may have limitations in terms of scalability and adaptability to a wide range of robot devices, as the movement patterns and operating states may vary significantly across different types of robots. Further research and development may be needed to ensure compatibility with various robot models.

How does this technology handle false alarms or misclassifications of abnormal behavior in robot devices?

The patent application does not specifically address how the electronic apparatus handles false alarms or misclassifications of abnormal behavior in robot devices. It would be important to consider the potential impact of false positives or negatives on the overall effectiveness of the system and implement mechanisms to reduce such errors.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic apparatus is disclosed. The electronic apparatus includes a communication interface including circuitry, a sensor, a memory stored with data including a plurality of movement patterns at a normal operation of a robot device, and at least one processor electrically coupled with the memory, and the at least one processor is configured to obtain a movement pattern of the robot device based on at least one from among a signal strength received from the robot device through the communication interface or sensing data of the sensor, and identify an operating state of the robot device according to the obtained movement patterned based on the data as a normal operation or an abnormal operation.
