SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE HAVING PHOTODIODE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18514601 titled 'SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE HAVING PHOTODIODE

Simplified Explanation

The signal processing device described in the patent application includes multiple pixel signal processing units and a signal line group. Each pixel signal processing unit acquires a digital signal with multiple bits based on the output from an avalanche photodiode. The signal line group is arranged to output signals corresponding to different digits of the digital signal held in each pixel signal processing unit.

  • Pixel signal processing units acquire digital signals based on avalanche photodiode output.
  • Signal line group outputs signals corresponding to different digits of the digital signal.
  • Pixel signal processing units are arranged in two directions.
  • Signal line group is arranged corresponding to the pixel signal processing units in the first direction.

  • Image processing
  • Optical communication systems
  • Remote sensing technologies

Problems Solved

  • Efficient signal processing
  • High-resolution image capture
  • Data transmission in optical systems

Benefits

  • Improved signal processing accuracy
  • Enhanced image quality
  • Increased data transmission speed

Original Abstract Submitted

A signal processing device includes a plurality of pixel signal processing units and a signal line group. The plurality of pixel signal processing units is arranged in a first direction and a second direction, each of the plurality of signal processing units acquiring a digital signal having a plurality of bits based on an output from a corresponding avalanche photodiode. The signal line group is arranged corresponding to the plurality of pixel signal processing units arranged in the first direction and including a signal line to which a plurality of signals corresponding to a plurality of bits of different digits of the digital signal held in each of the plurality of pixel signal processing units arranged in the first direction are commonly output.
