METHOD OF AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING DIGITAL IMAGE DATA - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18485981 titled 'METHOD OF AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING DIGITAL IMAGE DATA

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a computer-implemented method for processing digital image data using a generative adversarial network (GAN) system.

  • The method involves mapping a digital image to an extended latent space associated with a GAN system.
  • The encoder determines a noise prediction for the digital image.
  • The generator of the GAN system generates further digital images based on the noise prediction and latent variables associated with the extended latent space.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various fields such as image generation, image editing, and computer graphics.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in generating high-quality digital images based on input images and noise predictions, improving the efficiency of image processing tasks.

Benefits

The method allows for the generation of realistic digital images with enhanced details and features, providing more flexibility in image manipulation and editing.

Potential Commercial Applications

  • "Enhanced Image Generation Technology for Creative Industries"

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the use of GAN systems for image generation and manipulation tasks in the field of artificial intelligence.

Original Abstract Submitted

A computer-implemented method of processing digital image data. The method includes: determining, by an encoder configured to map a first digital image to an extended latent space associated with a generator of a generative adversarial network, GAN, system, a noise prediction associated with the first digital image, determining, by the generator of the GAN system, at least one further digital image based on the noise prediction associated with the first digital image and a plurality of latent variables associated with the extended latent space.
