DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18378596 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a display device that includes a display panel with a display area and a non-display area surrounding it. The non-display area has a metal wiring layer, and there is an encapsulation substrate on the display panel. A sealing member is placed between the display panel and the encapsulation substrate to bond them together. There is a first fusion region between the sealing member and the encapsulation substrate, which has no physical boundary and overlaps the metal wiring layer in the thickness direction.

  • The display device has a display panel with a display area and a non-display area.
  • The non-display area includes a metal wiring layer.
  • An encapsulation substrate is placed on the display panel.
  • A sealing member is used to bond the display panel and the encapsulation substrate.
  • A first fusion region is present between the sealing member and the encapsulation substrate.
  • The first fusion region has no physical boundary and overlaps the metal wiring layer in the thickness direction.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • This display device can be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • It can provide improved display quality and durability.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The sealing member and the encapsulation substrate are effectively bonded together, ensuring the integrity of the display device.
  • The first fusion region without a physical boundary helps to prevent delamination or separation between the sealing member and the encapsulation substrate.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced display quality and durability.
  • Improved reliability and longevity of the display device.
  • Reduced risk of delamination or separation between components.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device includes a display panel including a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area, and a metal wiring layer disposed on at least a portion of the non-display area, an encapsulation substrate disposed on the display panel, a sealing member which is disposed between the display panel and the encapsulation substrate and bonds the display panel to the encapsulation substrate and a first fusion region provided in at least a partial region between the sealing member and the encapsulation substrate, where the first fusion region has no physical boundary, and where at least a portion of the sealing member is disposed on the metal wiring layer in the non-display area, and the first fusion region is separated from the metal wiring layer while overlapping the metal wiring layer in a thickness direction.
