METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMUNICATION SERVICES (EPCS) PROCEDURES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18365824 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMUNICATION SERVICES (EPCS) PROCEDURES

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wireless communication network with an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD. The AP MLD generates an Extreme High Throughput (EHT) variant Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) Parameters Set element for a non-primary link between the AP MLD and the non-AP MLD. The AP MLD transmits a beacon frame containing the EHT variant EDCA Parameters Set element and the Link Indication subfield to the non-AP MLD.

  • Wireless communication network with AP MLD and non-AP MLD
  • AP MLD generates EHT variant EDCA Parameters Set element for non-primary link
  • Beacon frame transmitted by AP MLD to non-AP MLD contains EHT variant EDCA Parameters Set element and Link Indication subfield

Potential Applications

  • Improved communication efficiency in wireless networks
  • Enhanced throughput for data transmission between devices

Problems Solved

  • Addressing network congestion in wireless communication
  • Optimizing channel access for multiple devices in a network

Benefits

  • Increased data transmission speed
  • Better network performance and reliability
  • Improved overall efficiency in wireless communication networks

Original Abstract Submitted

A wireless communication network includes an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD. The AP MLD generates an Extreme High Throughput (EHT) variant Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) Parameters Set element including an EDCA Parameters Set element and a Link Indication. The EDCA Parameters Set element applies to a non-primary link between the AP MLD and the non-AP MLD. The AP MLD generates a beacon frame including the EHT variant EDCA Parameters Set element and the Link Indication subfield and transmits the beacon frame to the non-AP MLD.
