METHOD OF CONTROLLING ELECTRONIC DEVICE BY USING SPATIAL INFORMATION AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE USING SPATIAL INFORMATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18364901 titled 'METHOD OF CONTROLLING ELECTRONIC DEVICE BY USING SPATIAL INFORMATION AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE USING SPATIAL INFORMATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method of controlling an electronic device using spatial information, selecting objects in a space, providing movement guide information to the user, determining a movement path based on user response, and driving the device accordingly.

  • The method involves selecting an object that obstructs a task based on spatial information.
  • The user is provided with object movement guide information corresponding to the selected object's attributes.
  • A movement path is determined based on the user's response to the guide information.
  • The electronic device is then driven according to the determined movement path.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various fields such as home automation, robotics, virtual reality, and augmented reality.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of controlling an electronic device by using spatial information and an electronic device using spatial information are provided. The method includes selecting, based on spatial information about a space including at least one object and a task that the electronic device is set to perform, an object that obstructs the task from among objects located in a space corresponding to the task, providing a user of the electronic device with object movement guide information corresponding to attribute information about the selected object, determining a movement path used to perform the task, based on a user's response corresponding to the object movement guide information, and driving the electronic device according to the determined movement path.
