WEARABLE DEVICE FOR PROVIDING WEAR DETECTION FUNCTION AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18348612 titled 'WEARABLE DEVICE FOR PROVIDING WEAR DETECTION FUNCTION AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The wearable device described in the patent application is designed to detect whether it is properly worn on a user's legs. It includes driving modules that generate torque applied to the user's body, leg driving frames that relay the torque to the user's legs, and thigh fasteners that fix the leg driving frames to the user's legs. A sensor module obtains sensor data, including motion information of the leg driving frames, and a control module controls the wearable device based on the sensor data.

  • The wearable device has driving modules that generate torque and leg driving frames that relay the torque to the user's legs.
  • Thigh fasteners are used to fix the leg driving frames to the user's legs.
  • A sensor module obtains sensor data, including motion information of the leg driving frames.
  • A control module controls the wearable device based on the sensor data.
  • The control module performs a test to determine whether the wearable device is properly worn on the user's legs.
  • In the test, the control module generates test torque using the driving modules and determines whether the test is passed based on the sensor data obtained after the test torque is generated.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Assistive devices for individuals with mobility impairments.
  • Rehabilitation devices for physical therapy and recovery.
  • Sports training equipment for enhancing leg strength and performance.
  • Virtual reality or augmented reality applications for immersive experiences.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Ensures proper wearing of the wearable device on the user's legs for effective functionality.
  • Provides a means to test the device's proper placement and functionality.
  • Enhances user safety by detecting any issues with the device's positioning or operation.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved accuracy and reliability of wearable device functionality.
  • Enhanced user experience and comfort through proper device placement.
  • Facilitates personalized control and adjustment of the wearable device based on sensor data.
  • Enables efficient monitoring and assessment of the device's performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided are a wearable device for providing a wear detection function and an operation method of the wearable device. The wearable device may include driving modules for generating torque applied to a user's body, leg driving frames for relaying the generated torque to the user's legs, thigh fasteners that are respectively connected to the leg driving frames and for fixing the leg driving frames respectively to the user's legs, a sensor module for obtaining sensor data including motion information of the leg driving frames, and a control module for controlling the wearable device based on the sensor data. The control module is configured to perform a test to determine whether the wearable device is properly worn on the user's legs. In the test, the control module is further configured to control the driving modules to generate test torque and determine whether the test is passed based on the sensor data obtained after the test torque is generated.
