ROTARY COMPRESSOR AND HOME APPLIANCE INCLUDING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18323551 titled 'ROTARY COMPRESSOR AND HOME APPLIANCE INCLUDING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a rotary compressor with a rotary shaft that has an oil channel, an oil hole, and a gas hole. The compressor also includes an oil paddle that rotates with the shaft and has two twisted regions in opposite directions. When the shaft rotates, the first twisted region transfers oil along the oil channel towards the gas hole, while the second twisted region transfers oil away from the gas discharge hole.

  • The rotary compressor has a rotary shaft with an oil channel, oil hole, and gas hole.
  • An oil paddle is attached to the shaft and rotates in the same direction.
  • The oil paddle has two twisted regions, one in the opposite direction to the shaft's rotation and the other in the same direction.
  • When the shaft rotates, the first twisted region of the oil paddle moves oil along the oil channel towards the gas hole.
  • Simultaneously, the second twisted region of the shaft moves oil along the oil channel away from the gas discharge hole.

Potential Applications

  • Air conditioning systems
  • Refrigeration systems
  • Industrial compressors

Problems Solved

  • Efficient transfer of oil within a rotary compressor
  • Preventing oil leakage from the gas discharge hole

Benefits

  • Improved performance and efficiency of the compressor
  • Reduced oil leakage and potential damage to the system
  • Enhanced reliability and longevity of the compressor

Original Abstract Submitted

A rotary compressor includes a rotary shaft rotating in a first direction and defining each of an oil channel along which oil moves, an oil hole corresponding to a cylinder and a gas hole above the cylinder, and an oil paddle rotating in the first rotation direction together with the rotary shaft, the oil paddle including a first length region twisted in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction, and a second length region twisted in the first rotation direction, where rotation of the rotary shaft in the first rotation direction includes the first length region of the oil paddle transferring the oil along the oil channel and toward the gas hole, together with the second length region of the rotary shaft transferring the oil along the oil channel and away from the gas discharge hole.
