FOOD WASTE DISPOSER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18323322 titled 'FOOD WASTE DISPOSER

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a food waste disposer that includes a housing, a grinding case, a valve assembly, a storage case, a transfer tube, and a connector.

  • The housing contains the other components of the food waste disposer.
  • The grinding case is positioned inside the housing and is used to grind food waste. It can be separated from the housing and has a discharge hole at the bottom.
  • The valve assembly is coupled to the grinding case below the discharge hole and can open or close the discharge hole. It protrudes below the grinding case.
  • The storage case is positioned below the grinding case and is used to store the grinded food waste.
  • The transfer tube is positioned between the valve assembly and the storage case and is used to transfer the grinded food waste from the grinding case to the storage case.
  • The connector is coupled to the transfer tube and has a deformable shape that allows it to accommodate the valve assembly resting on it.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Residential kitchens: The food waste disposer can be installed in residential kitchens to efficiently dispose of food waste.
  • Commercial kitchens: Restaurants and other food establishments can benefit from this technology to manage their food waste.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Food waste management: The food waste disposer provides a convenient and efficient way to dispose of food waste, reducing the need for traditional waste disposal methods.
  • Odor and hygiene issues: By grinding and storing food waste, the disposer helps to minimize odor and hygiene issues associated with food waste accumulation.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Convenience: The food waste disposer simplifies the process of disposing of food waste, eliminating the need for separate waste bins or frequent trips to the garbage disposal area.
  • Space-saving: The compact design of the disposer allows it to be easily installed under the sink, saving valuable kitchen space.
  • Environmental sustainability: Proper disposal of food waste through the disposer can contribute to reducing landfill waste and promote sustainable waste management practices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A food waste disposer includes: a housing; a grinding case positioned inside the housing, configured to grind food waste, and separable from the housing, wherein a discharge hole is formed in a bottom of the grinding case; a valve assembly coupled to the grinding case below the discharge hole and configured to open or close the discharge hole, the valve assembly protruding below the grinding case; a storage case positioned below the grinding case and configured to store the grinded food waste from the grinding case; a transfer tube positioned between the valve assembly and the storage case and configured to transfer the grinded food waste from the grinding case to the storage case; and a connector coupled to the transfer tube, wherein a shape of the connector is deformable upon the valve assembly resting on the connector.
