INFRASTRUCTURE DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE, INFRASTRUCTURE DIAGNOSTIC METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18275962 titled 'INFRASTRUCTURE DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE, INFRASTRUCTURE DIAGNOSTIC METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The infrastructure diagnostic device described in the abstract is a tool that can analyze the state of a road section by dividing the movement path of a moving body into meshes and collecting sensor information from the road section.

  • Memory stores instructions
  • Processor executes instructions to generate road section by dividing movement path into meshes and collecting sensor information
  • Meshes obtained by dividing ground surface into predetermined size
  • Output state of road section based on collected sensor information

Potential Applications

This technology could be used in various industries and sectors such as:

  • Transportation
  • Civil engineering
  • Urban planning
  • Infrastructure maintenance

Problems Solved

  • Efficient road section analysis
  • Quick detection of road issues
  • Improved infrastructure maintenance

Benefits

  • Enhanced road safety
  • Cost-effective infrastructure maintenance
  • Real-time monitoring of road conditions

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing this technology for commercial use could lead to applications in:

  • Smart cities
  • Traffic management systems
  • Construction companies
  • Infrastructure development firms

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be traditional road inspection methods that rely on manual labor and visual inspection, which may not be as efficient or accurate as the automated system described in the patent application.

Unanswered Questions

How does the device handle different types of road surfaces and conditions?

The abstract does not provide details on how the device adapts to various road surfaces and conditions to ensure accurate analysis.

What is the scalability of this technology for large-scale infrastructure projects?

It is unclear from the abstract how well this device can scale up for use in large-scale infrastructure projects and whether it can handle the volume of data generated effectively.

Original Abstract Submitted

An infrastructure diagnostic device according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes: at least one memory configured to store instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to: generate a road section by dividing, by meshes, a movement path of a moving body collected from the moving body moving on a road, the meshes being obtained by dividing a ground surface into a predetermined size; and determine and output a state of the road section based on sensor information of the road section collected from the moving body.
