MEDIA FILE PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18274381 titled 'MEDIA FILE PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE
Simplified Explanation
The present document describes a method for generating media files using a media file generation device. The method involves configuring a group related to at least one operating point and generating a media file that includes the group. The group can be an entity group or a sample group, and it contains information such as the number of operating points, a flag for incomplete operating points, and operating point available indicator information which indicates different states related to the operating points.
- The method involves configuring a group related to at least one operating point.
- The group can be an entity group or a sample group.
- The group includes information on the number of operating points, a flag for incomplete operating points, and operating point available indicator information.
- The operating point available indicator information indicates different states related to the operating points, such as complete, non-availability of an output layer set, and non-availability of temporal sub-layers.
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in the fields of media file generation, video encoding, and multimedia content creation.
Problems Solved
This technology helps in efficiently managing and generating media files with different operating points, ensuring completeness and availability of necessary components.
Benefits

Original Abstract Submitted
The present document provides a media file generation method performed by a media file generation device. The method comprises the steps of configuring a group related to at least one operating point and generating a media file including the group, wherein: the group is one of an entity group and a sample group; the group includes number information on the number of operating points, a flag for incomplete operating points, which indicates whether one or more operating points are incomplete, and operating point available indicator information; a value of the operating point available indicator information indicates one of particular states; and the particular states include a first state related to an operating point being complete, a second state related to non-availability of an output layer set associated with the operating point, and a third state related to nonavailability of one or more temporal sub-layers associated with the operating point.
