Disclosed is a method is disclosed, performed by a wireless device, for resource reservation of a contention-based sidelink transmission. The method comprises obtaining information defining a transmission resource pool and a resource reservation pool comprising one or more resource reservation blocks associated with respective transmission resources in the transmission resource pool. The one or more resource reservation blocks comprise a plurality of occasions. The method comprises transmitting a resource reservation signal using a first occasion of a resource reservation block associated with a transmission resource selected by the wireless device for sidelink transmission. The method comprises monitoring one or more other occasions of the resource reservation block for resource reservation signals transmitted by other wireless devices aiming at reserving the same transmission resource. The one or more other occasions are different from the first occasion. The method comprises controlling, based on the monitoring, the sidelink transmission using the transmission resource.
