NETWORK NODE AND METHOD FOR HANDLING OPERATIONS IN A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18265306 titled 'NETWORK NODE AND METHOD FOR HANDLING OPERATIONS IN A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method performed by a network node for handling operations in a communications network, including obtaining an indication of a failure, obtaining parameters to resolve the failure, generating a plan, and executing operations using the plan.

  • The network node obtains information about a failure in the communications network.
  • Parameters related to resources and service levels are obtained to address the failure.
  • A plan is generated taking into account the service level and obtained parameters.
  • Operations are executed based on the generated plan.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in telecommunications networks, data centers, cloud computing environments, and other complex computing systems where efficient handling of failures and resource allocation is crucial.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in quickly identifying and resolving failures in a communications network, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring service levels are met, leading to improved network performance and reliability.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved network efficiency, reduced downtime, optimized resource utilization, and enhanced overall network performance.

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications of this technology include network management systems, data center operations, cloud service providers, and telecommunications companies looking to enhance the reliability and performance of their networks.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art in this field could be fault management systems in telecommunications networks that aim to detect and resolve failures to maintain network performance and service levels.

Original Abstract Submitted

Embodiments herein may e.g. relate to a method performed by a network node () for handling one or more operations in a communications network comprising a plurality of computing devices () performing one or more tasks. The network node () obtains an indication of a failure of an operation in the communications network; and obtains one or more parameters to resolve the failure. The one or more parameters relate to resources of the plurality of computing devices () and the communications network (), wherein the one or more parameters are structured in an hierarchic manner and defined by a task of a capability, a resource used for the task, and a service level for the task. The network node () generates a plan by taking an aimed service level into account as well as the obtained one or more parameters; and executes one or more operations using the generated plan.
