CUSTOMER TERMINAL DEVICE, POSITION DETECTION METHOD AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18264876 titled 'CUSTOMER TERMINAL DEVICE, POSITION DETECTION METHOD AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a customer terminal device with an ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning module for accurate position detection.

  • The device includes a UWB positioning module that outputs a first detection signal.
  • A first transmission component receives the first detection signal and outputs a second detection signal.
  • A second transmission component also receives the first detection signal and outputs a third detection signal.
  • An antenna module with a UWB positioning beacon receives and sends the detection signals to the UWB positioning module.
  • The UWB positioning module performs position detection on the antenna module based on the received signals.

Potential Applications

This technology can be used in indoor navigation systems, asset tracking, and location-based services.

Problems Solved

Accurate indoor positioning and tracking of objects or individuals in real-time.

Benefits

Improved accuracy and reliability in position detection, especially in indoor environments where GPS signals may be weak or unavailable.

Potential Commercial Applications

This technology can be applied in retail stores for customer tracking, in warehouses for inventory management, and in healthcare facilities for patient monitoring.

Possible Prior Art

Prior art may include similar UWB positioning systems used in industrial settings for asset tracking and monitoring.

Unanswered Questions

How does the device handle interference in crowded environments?

The patent application does not provide details on how the device mitigates interference from other UWB devices or signals in crowded areas.

What is the power consumption of the device?

Information on the power requirements and consumption of the device is not mentioned in the abstract.

Original Abstract Submitted
