ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR CHANGING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18228104 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR CHANGING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for operating an IoT device by receiving a device change request from an IoT server, releasing a connection with a first device, switching the IoT device to pairing mode, establishing a wireless communication link with a second device, and receiving information about an access point connecting the second device and the IoT server.

  • Receiving device change request from IoT server
  • Releasing connection with first device
  • Switching IoT device to pairing mode
  • Establishing wireless communication link with second device
  • Receiving information about access point connecting second device and IoT server

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of operating an IoT device comprising receiving a device change request from an IoT server. The method includes releasing a connection between an Internet-of-things (IoT) device and a first device based on receiving the device change request, switching an operation of the IoT device to a pairing mode to establish a wireless communication link, based on the releasing of the connection between the IoT device and the first device. The method includes establishing a wireless communication link between the IoT device and a second device while the IoT device is in the pairing mode. The method includes identifying whether the second device is associated with the device change request, and receiving information about an access point (AP) connecting the second device and the IoT server from the second device based on the second device being identified as being associated with the device change request.
