METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING A VIRTUAL SESSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18213007 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING A VIRTUAL SESSION

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure relates to managing a virtual session by identifying the current activity performed by a user, determining parameters associated with the virtual session, detecting events in the real-world environment, correlating the events with the parameters, determining additional parameters based on the correlation, and modifying the virtual session based on the additional parameters.

  • The method involves identifying the current activity of a user in a virtual session.
  • Parameters associated with the virtual session are determined.
  • Events occurring in the real-world environment are detected.
  • The correlation between the events and the parameters is determined.
  • Additional parameters are determined based on the correlation.
  • The virtual session is modified by adjusting the parameters based on the additional parameters.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Virtual reality gaming: The technology can be used to enhance the gaming experience by incorporating real-world events into the virtual environment.
  • Virtual training simulations: The technology can be utilized to create realistic training scenarios by integrating real-world events and parameters into the virtual session.
  • Virtual meetings and conferences: The technology can be applied to improve virtual communication by adapting the virtual session based on real-world events and parameters.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Lack of realism in virtual sessions: By incorporating real-world events and parameters, the technology addresses the issue of virtual sessions feeling disconnected from reality.
  • Limited interactivity in virtual environments: The ability to modify the virtual session based on real-world events allows for increased interactivity and responsiveness.
  • Inefficient use of virtual resources: By dynamically adjusting parameters, the technology optimizes the utilization of virtual resources, enhancing efficiency.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced user experience: The integration of real-world events and parameters adds a new level of immersion and realism to virtual sessions, improving the overall user experience.
  • Increased engagement and interactivity: The ability to adapt the virtual session based on real-world events promotes active engagement and interaction within the virtual environment.
  • Improved efficiency and resource utilization: By dynamically modifying parameters, the technology optimizes the use of virtual resources, leading to improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure provides methods, apparatuses, and systems for managing a virtual session. In some embodiments, the method includes identifying a current activity performed by a user in the virtual session, determining at least one first parameter of the virtual session associated with the current activity, detecting an occurrence of at least one event in a real-world environment, determining a correlation between the at least one event and the at least one first parameter, determining at least one second parameter to be associated with the current activity, based on the correlation, and transforming the virtual session by modifying the at least one first parameter based on the at least one second parameter.
