INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, DETERMINATION METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18207459 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, DETERMINATION METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a patent application for an information processing apparatus that calculates the difficulty of inference tasks and determines which stage of an inference model to use based on this difficulty.

  • The apparatus includes a first difficulty calculation unit that assesses the difficulty of inference tasks by inputting time series input data into a first-stage inference model.
  • A first determination unit then decides whether to use a later-stage inference model based on the calculated difficulty.

Original Abstract Submitted

In order to ensure necessary inference accuracy while minimizing inference time, an information processing apparatus () includes: a first difficulty calculation unit () that calculates difficulty in inference carried out by inputting input data, constituting a time series, to a first-stage inference model among multiple-stage inference models which are configured such that use of a later-stage inference model achieves higher inference accuracy; and a first determination unit () that determines, on the basis of the difficulty, whether a second- or later-stage inference model will be used.
