ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18159348 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that can be worn on a user's body. It includes a housing, microphone(s), speaker(s), sensor(s), and processor(s). The processor recognizes the device's state based on input from the microphone(s), speaker(s), and sensor(s), and controls its functions accordingly.

  • The device is designed to be worn on the body.
  • It includes microphones, speakers, sensors, and processors.
  • The processor can determine the device's state using input from these components.
  • The device's functions can be controlled based on its state.

Potential Applications

  • Fitness tracking: The device can recognize if it is being worn on the wrist or chest, and adjust fitness tracking features accordingly.
  • Hands-free communication: The device can detect if it is being worn on the head or neck, and enable hands-free calling or voice commands.
  • Sleep monitoring: By recognizing if it is being worn on the wrist or placed on a bedside table, the device can activate sleep tracking features.

Problems Solved

  • Convenience: The device eliminates the need for handheld devices by being worn on the body, allowing for hands-free use.
  • Adaptability: By recognizing its state, the device can automatically adjust its functions to suit different activities or situations.

Benefits

  • Improved user experience: The device can seamlessly adapt to the user's needs based on its worn state, providing a more convenient and personalized experience.
  • Enhanced functionality: By utilizing input from microphones, speakers, and sensors, the device can offer a wide range of features and capabilities.
  • Increased convenience: The device eliminates the need to carry or hold a separate device, allowing for greater freedom of movement.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing formed so as to be worn in at least a part of a user's body, at least one microphone, a speaker, at least one sensor, and at least one processor operatively connected to the at least one microphone, the speaker, and the at least one sensor. The at least one processor recognizes a state of the electronic device worn in at least the part of the user's body using at least one of the at least one microphone, the speaker, and the at least one sensor, and controls a function of the electronic device based on the worn state.
