The device includes at least one communication module, a memory, and at least one processor operatively connected to the at least one communication module and the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to broadcast a first poll message including a first distance measurement cycle by using the at least one communication module, broadcast a second poll message including a second distance measurement cycle by using the at least one communication module, receive, from at least one external electronic device, a response message including a time-error applied response time, and determine the distance to the at least one external electronic device based on the time error-applied response time.
