DISPLAY APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18137234 titled 'DISPLAY APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a display system that can show multiple contents simultaneously based on their priority levels.

  • The system includes a display and a processor connected to the display.
  • The processor controls the display to show the first content initially.
  • When a command is received to execute the second content, the processor compares the priority levels of the first and second content.
  • Based on the comparison, the first content and the second content are displayed in the first area of the display, which is the center of the screen.
  • The remaining area of the display, excluding the first area, can show the other content.
  • This allows for simultaneous display of multiple contents with different priorities.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Multi-tasking displays in smartphones, tablets, or computers.
  • Digital signage systems that need to show multiple advertisements or information simultaneously.
  • Gaming consoles that can display game content and additional information at the same time.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Prioritization of content: The system allows for the display of multiple contents based on their priority levels, ensuring important information is prominently shown.
  • Efficient use of display space: By utilizing different areas of the display for different content, the system maximizes the use of available screen real estate.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced user experience: Users can view multiple contents without having to switch between screens or applications.
  • Improved information visibility: Important content can be displayed in the center of the screen, making it more noticeable.
  • Optimal use of display space: The system intelligently allocates screen areas for different content, making efficient use of the available display space.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display; and at least one processor operatively connected to the display and configured to: control the display to display first content, and based on receiving a command for executing second content, (i) compare a first priority associated with the first content with a second priority associated with the second content, (ii) display one content of the first content and the second content in a first area of the display based on the comparison of the first priority with the second priority, and (iii) control the display to display the other content of the first content and the second content on a second area of the display based on the comparison of the first priority with the second priority, wherein the first area is an area including a center of the display, and wherein the second area may include at least a portion of a remaining area excluding the first area of the display.
