METHOD FOR PERFORMING FUNCTION USING BIOMETRIC SIGNAL AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE SUPPORTING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18102981 titled 'METHOD FOR PERFORMING FUNCTION USING BIOMETRIC SIGNAL AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE SUPPORTING SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that includes a sensor module, processor, and memory. The device is capable of measuring biometric signals and performing different functions based on the priority of these signals.

  • The device has a sensor module with at least one sensor that measures biometric signals.
  • It also has a processor and memory that store instructions for the device to follow.
  • The device can receive input for performing a second function using a second biometric signal while already performing a first function using a first biometric signal.
  • It determines the priority between the first and second functions based on the measurement scheme of the second biometric signal and the measurement scheme of the first biometric signal.
  • The device then performs the function with a higher priority using the sensor module.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Biometric authentication: The device can prioritize functions based on different biometric signals, allowing for more secure and efficient authentication methods.
  • Health monitoring: The device can prioritize health-related functions based on different biometric signals, providing more accurate and timely monitoring of vital signs.
  • User interface optimization: The device can prioritize functions based on user preferences and biometric signals, enhancing the overall user experience.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient resource allocation: The device can prioritize functions based on the importance and relevance of different biometric signals, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Enhanced user experience: By prioritizing functions based on user preferences and biometric signals, the device can provide a more personalized and intuitive user interface.
  • Improved accuracy and reliability: The device can prioritize functions based on the quality and reliability of different biometric signals, leading to more accurate and reliable results.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Increased security: By prioritizing functions based on biometric signals, the device can enhance security measures and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Improved efficiency: The device can optimize resource allocation and prioritize functions, leading to faster and more efficient task completion.
  • Enhanced user satisfaction: By considering user preferences and biometric signals, the device can provide a more tailored and user-friendly experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure may comprise: a sensor module, comprising at least one sensor, configured to measure a biometric signal, at least one processor, and a memory, wherein the memory includes instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to: , receive, while performing a first function, an input for performing a second function using a second biometric signal using a first biometric signal; determine a priority between the first function and the second function, based on a measurement scheme of the second biometric signal specified by the input and a measurement scheme of the first biometric signal; and perform a function having a higher priority, among the first function and the second function, using the sensor module, based on the priority.
