INK JET RECORDING METHOD AND INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18075649 titled 'INK JET RECORDING METHOD AND INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an ink jet recording method that allows for the creation of fluorescent-colored images with excellent color developability and abrasion resistance. The method involves ejecting an aqueous ink from an ink jet system onto a recording medium and then heating the medium at a specific temperature.

  • The aqueous ink used in the method contains two types of resin particles: a first resin particle and a second resin particle.
  • The first resin particle is dyed with at least one fluorescent dye, which can be a basic dye, a disperse dye, or an oil-soluble dye. It also contains a cyano group-containing unit.
  • The second resin particle does not contain any coloring material.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Printing of fluorescent-colored images with high color developability and abrasion resistance.
  • Creation of visually striking and durable signage, labels, and packaging materials.
  • Production of fluorescent artwork and designs for various purposes.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Previous ink jet recording methods may have lacked stability in ink ejection and the ability to produce fluorescent-colored images with good color developability and abrasion resistance.
  • This method addresses these issues by incorporating specific resin particles and heating the recording medium.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Excellent ejecting stability during the ink jet recording process.
  • Ability to create fluorescent-colored images with vibrant colors and high durability.
  • Improved color developability and abrasion resistance compared to previous methods.

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided is an ink jet recording method having excellent ejecting stability and capable of recording a fluorescent-colored image with an excellent color developability and abrasion resistance. The ink jet recording method includes a recording step of ejecting an aqueous ink from a recording head of an ink jet system and applying the aqueous ink to a recording medium and a heating step of heating the recording medium applied with the aqueous ink at a temperature T(° C.). The aqueous ink contains a first resin particle and a second resin particle, the first resin particle is dyed with at least one fluorescent dye selected from the group consisting of a basic dye, a disperse dye and an oil-soluble dye, and contains a cyano group-containing unit, and the second resin particle does not include any coloring material therein.
