INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18075565 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a patent application related to canceling a predetermined state on a device and the corresponding notifications on an information processing apparatus. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • When canceling a predetermined state on a device, if the device is powered off as part of the cancellation process, the information processing apparatus will not send a notification if communication between the device and the apparatus becomes inexecutable.
  • However, if the cancellation process does not involve powering off the device, the information processing apparatus will send a notification if communication between the device and the apparatus becomes inexecutable after the cancellation screen is displayed.

Potential Applications:

  • This technology can be applied in various devices and information processing systems where predetermined states need to be canceled.
  • It can be useful in situations where communication between a device and an information processing apparatus is critical, such as in IoT devices or remote control systems.

Problems Solved:

  • The technology addresses the issue of unnecessary notifications being sent when communication between a device and an information processing apparatus becomes inexecutable during the cancellation process.
  • It ensures that notifications are only sent when necessary, based on the specific cancellation process and the state of communication.

Benefits:

  • By avoiding unnecessary notifications, the technology reduces potential disruptions and distractions for users.
  • It improves the efficiency of the cancellation process by providing relevant notifications only when communication is inexecutable.
  • The technology enhances the overall user experience by providing a more streamlined and tailored notification system.

Original Abstract Submitted

If an operation of canceling a predetermined state includes an operation of powering off the device, even if communication between the device and the information processing apparatus becomes inexecutable after the screen for cancelling the predetermined state is displayed, the information processing apparatus does not execute a notification corresponding to a state in which the communication is inexecutable. If the operation of canceling the predetermined state does not include the operation of powering off the device, the information processing apparatus executes, based on a fact that the communication between the device and the information processing apparatus becomes inexecutable after the screen for cancelling the predetermined state is displayed, the notification corresponding to the state in which the communication is inexecutable.
