ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING ANTENNA - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17975085 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING ANTENNA

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an electronic device with an antenna structure that is positioned inside the housing of the device. The antenna structure includes a printed circuit board with a first surface facing the front or rear surface of the device and a second surface facing the opposite direction. The printed circuit board has a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and a dielectric. The first conductive layer includes two antenna elements that do not overlap each other when viewed from above the first surface.

  • The electronic device has a housing with a front and rear surface.
  • The antenna structure is positioned inside the housing.
  • The printed circuit board of the antenna structure has a first and second surface.
  • The first surface faces the front or rear surface of the device.
  • The second surface faces the opposite direction.
  • The printed circuit board has a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and a dielectric.
  • The first conductive layer includes two antenna elements.
  • The antenna elements do not overlap each other when viewed from above the first surface.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing, an antenna structure, a first conductive material, and a second conductive material. The housing may be configured to provide a front surface and a rear surface of the electronic device. The antenna structure includes a printed circuit board positioned in the housing. The printed circuit board includes a first surface configured to face the front surface or the rear surface and a second surface configured to face a direction opposite to the first surface. The printed circuit board includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and a dielectric. The first conductive layer includes a first antenna element and a second antenna element which are configured so as not to overlap each other when viewed from above the first surface.
