ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING A RING-SHAPED BATTERY - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17974411 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING A RING-SHAPED BATTERY

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a battery design that includes a ring-shaped battery case with multiple spaces separated by partition walls. The battery also includes an electrode assembly made up of stacked electrode plates placed in one of the spaces. The electrode assembly has electrode tabs that are drawn out through the partition walls into adjacent spaces.

  • The battery case has a ring shape with multiple spaces and partition walls.
  • The electrode assembly is made up of stacked electrode plates.
  • The electrode tabs are drawn out through the partition walls into adjacent spaces.

Potential Applications

  • This battery design could be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, and electric vehicles.
  • It may find applications in renewable energy storage systems, providing a compact and efficient power source.

Problems Solved

  • The ring-shaped battery case with partition walls allows for better organization and separation of the electrode assembly, improving the overall battery structure.
  • Drawing out the electrode tabs through the partition walls simplifies the electrical connections within the battery, enhancing its performance and reliability.

Benefits

  • The ring-shaped battery case with multiple spaces and partition walls provides a more efficient use of space, allowing for higher energy density in the battery.
  • The electrode tabs drawn out through the partition walls simplify the manufacturing process and improve the electrical connections, resulting in a more reliable and durable battery design.

Original Abstract Submitted

According to various embodiments of the disclosure, a battery may include a battery case has a ring shape, which includes a plurality of spaces physically separated by a plurality of partition walls, and an electrode assembly having a structure formed by stacking a plurality of electrode plates received in at least one space of the plurality of spaces of the battery case, wherein the electrode assembly may include electrode tabs, each of which is drawn out through at least one of the plurality of partition walls along one surface inside the battery case into another space adjacent to the at least one space in which the electrode assembly is received.
