METHOD FOR SHARING INSTRUCTIONS FOR IOT APPARATUSES, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17958967 titled 'METHOD FOR SHARING INSTRUCTIONS FOR IOT APPARATUSES, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

An electronic device is described in this patent application. It consists of a communication module, a processor, and a memory. The memory stores computer program code that enables the processor to perform certain operations.

  • The device can detect when a first operation of an Internet of Things (IoT) device is being executed.
  • It retrieves a specific instruction from the memory to operate the IoT device in a second operation.
  • The instruction is then transmitted to the IoT device to carry out the second operation.
  • The electronic device also monitors the execution of the second operation by the IoT device.

Potential Applications

This technology has potential applications in various fields where IoT devices are used, such as:

  • Smart homes: The electronic device can control and monitor various IoT devices in a smart home, such as lights, thermostats, and security systems.
  • Industrial automation: It can be used to manage and monitor IoT devices in industrial settings, improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Healthcare: The technology can be utilized to control and monitor IoT devices in healthcare settings, such as patient monitoring systems and medical equipment.

Problems Solved

This technology addresses several problems related to the operation and management of IoT devices:

  • Streamlined control: It provides a centralized electronic device that can control multiple IoT devices, simplifying the management process.
  • Efficient monitoring: The electronic device can monitor the execution of operations by IoT devices, ensuring they are functioning correctly and identifying any issues.
  • Seamless integration: The technology allows for seamless integration of different IoT devices, enabling them to work together smoothly.

Benefits

The use of this technology offers several benefits:

  • Improved convenience: Users can easily control and monitor multiple IoT devices from a single electronic device.
  • Enhanced efficiency: The centralized control and monitoring capabilities help optimize the performance of IoT devices, leading to increased efficiency.
  • Enhanced security: The ability to monitor the execution of operations by IoT devices allows for early detection of any security breaches or anomalies.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device may include: a communication module; a processor operatively connected to the communication module; and a memory operatively connected to the processor and configured to store computer program code. The computer program code, when executed, enables the processor to: upon detection of execution of a first operation of a first Internet of Things (IoT) device, obtain, from the memory, a first instruction to operate the first IoT device in a second operation; transmit the first instruction to the first IoT device to operate the first IoT device in the second operation; and monitor execution of the second operation by the first IoT device.
