APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HANDLING BANDWIDTH PART CONFIGURATION FOR RANDOM ACCESS CHANNEL PROCEDURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17936732 titled 'APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HANDLING BANDWIDTH PART CONFIGURATION FOR RANDOM ACCESS CHANNEL PROCEDURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure is about a method for handling Bandwidth Part (BWP) configurations for a Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure in a wireless network, specifically in a pre-5G or 5G communication system. The method involves configuring a BWP configuration that includes RACH resources for each BWP in a set of BWPs for the RACH procedure. The method also includes indicating the RACH resources for each BWP in the set of BWPs to a User Equipment (UE) in the wireless network.

  • The method is used in a pre-5G or 5G communication system.
  • It involves configuring BWP configurations for a RACH procedure.
  • The BWP configurations include RACH resources for each BWP in a set of BWPs.
  • The method includes indicating the RACH resources to a UE in the wireless network.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in the development of pre-5G or 5G communication systems.
  • It can be used to support higher data rates beyond 4G communication systems like LTE.
  • The method can be implemented in wireless networks to improve the efficiency and performance of RACH procedures.

Problems Solved

  • The method solves the problem of handling BWP configurations for a RACH procedure in a wireless network.
  • It addresses the need for configuring RACH resources for each BWP in a set of BWPs.
  • The method solves the challenge of indicating the RACH resources to UEs in the wireless network.

Benefits

  • The method simplifies the handling of BWP configurations for RACH procedures.
  • It improves the efficiency and performance of RACH procedures in wireless networks.
  • The method enables the support of higher data rates in pre-5G or 5G communication systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments herein disclose a method of handling BWP configurations for a RACH procedure in a wireless network. The method includes configuring, by a BS, a BWP configuration comprising RACH resource for each BWP in a set of BWPs for the RACH procedure. Further, the method includes indicating, by the BS, the RACH resource for each of the BWPs in the set of BWPs to a UE in the wireless network.
