Vehicle and Method for Controlling the Same - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17900496 titled 'Vehicle and Method for Controlling the Same

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an embodiment vehicle that includes a battery, input device, display, and processor. The vehicle is designed to operate in a load power supply mode. When the vehicle receives an instruction to enter this mode, it prompts the user to input destination information through the input device.

Once the destination information is received, the processor calculates the distance from the current location to the destination using the current location information and the destination information. Based on this distance, the processor determines the required amount of power needed to drive to the destination.

The processor then identifies the amount of power currently charged in the battery and calculates the amount of discharge energy that can be supplied to an external device based on the required amount of power and the amount of power in the battery. Finally, the display is controlled to show this calculated amount of discharge energy as proposal information.

  • An embodiment vehicle with a load power supply mode
  • Input device for receiving destination information
  • Processor for calculating distance to destination and required power
  • Battery for storing power
  • Display for showing proposal information on discharge energy

Potential Applications

  • Electric vehicles with load power supply mode
  • Vehicles with smart power management systems

Problems Solved

  • Efficient power management for electric vehicles
  • Providing users with information on available discharge energy

Benefits

  • Optimal power usage for driving to a destination
  • Ability to supply power to external devices
  • Improved user experience with proposal information on discharge energy

Original Abstract Submitted

An embodiment vehicle includes a battery, an input device, a display, and a processor configured to request input of destination information in response to receipt of an on instruction of a load power supply mode through the input device, obtain distance information from a current location to a destination based on current location information and the destination information in response to receipt of the destination information through the input device, obtain a required amount of power necessary for driving to the destination based on the obtained distance information, identify an amount of power charged in the battery, obtain an amount of discharge energy by supplying power to an external device based on the obtained required amount of power and the amount of power charged in the battery, and control the display to display the obtained amount of discharge energy as proposal information.
