VALVE DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17876154 titled 'VALVE DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a valve device that includes a case, a base plate, a refrigerant inlet pipe, an inlet and outlet pipe, a boss, and a pad. The valve device is used to control the flow of refrigerant in a refrigeration system.

  • The case has an open lower portion and an accommodation space inside.
  • The base plate covers the open lower portion of the case.
  • The refrigerant inlet pipe is connected to the base plate and allows refrigerant to enter the accommodation space.
  • The inlet and outlet pipe is also connected to the base plate and allows refrigerant to flow in and out.
  • The boss is a component with a refrigerant inlet and outlet hole and an extending groove.
  • The refrigerant inlet and outlet hole is positioned away from the center and connects to the inlet and outlet pipe.
  • The extending groove extends radially outward from the first position and is connected to the refrigerant inlet and outlet hole.
  • The pad is a movable component that can rotate to close the refrigerant inlet and outlet hole and open the extending groove.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Refrigeration systems
  • Air conditioning systems
  • Heat pumps

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Controlling the flow of refrigerant in a precise and efficient manner
  • Preventing leaks and ensuring proper functioning of the refrigeration system

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved control over refrigerant flow
  • Enhanced efficiency and performance of refrigeration systems
  • Reduced risk of leaks and malfunctions

Original Abstract Submitted

A valve device includes a case including an open lower portion and an accommodation space provided therein, a base plate to cover the open lower portion of the case, a refrigerant inlet pipe connected to the base plate and to allow a refrigerant to flow into the accommodation space, an inlet and outlet pipe connected to the base plate to allow the refrigerant to flow in and out, a boss including a refrigerant inlet and outlet hole formed at a first position spaced apart from a center to communicate with the inlet and outlet pipe, and an extending groove extending radially outward from the first position to a second position and connected to the refrigerant inlet and outlet hole, and a pad including an open cavity rotatable on one side of the boss to close the refrigerant inlet and outlet hole and to open the extending groove.
