ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17580082 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD THEREOF
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes an electronic appliance that includes a communication interface, memory, and a processor. The processor controls the electronic appliance and executes instructions stored in the memory.
- The processor can toggle a first signal related to the communication interface when an event occurs for reading extended display identification data (EDID) from an external apparatus connected through the communication interface.
- After toggling the first signal, the processor monitors a signal output from the external apparatus to identify if the external apparatus failed to read the EDID information.
- If the external apparatus fails to read the EDID information, the processor toggles a second signal related to the communication interface.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be used in electronic appliances that require communication with external devices, such as monitors or projectors.
- It can be applied in smart TVs, gaming consoles, or computer systems to ensure proper communication and compatibility with connected devices.
Problems Solved
- The technology solves the problem of identifying when an external apparatus fails to read extended display identification data (EDID) information.
- It helps in troubleshooting and resolving compatibility issues between electronic appliances and connected devices.
Benefits
- The electronic appliance can automatically detect and respond to failures in reading EDID information, improving the overall user experience.
- It simplifies the process of identifying and resolving compatibility issues, saving time and effort for users.
- The technology enhances the reliability and performance of electronic appliances by ensuring proper communication with connected devices.
Original Abstract Submitted
An electronic appliance is provided. The electronic appliance includes a communication interface, a memory storing at least one instruction, and a processor which is connected with the memory and the communication interface and controls the electronic apparatus. Here, the processor may, by executing the at least one instruction, based on an event for reading extended display identification data (EDID) stored in the memory at an external apparatus connected through the communication interface occurring, toggle a first signal related to the communication interface, and after the first signal is toggled, monitor a signal output from the external apparatus and identify whether the external apparatus failed to read the EDID information, and based on identifying that the external apparatus failed to read the EDID information, toggle a second signal related to the communication interface.
