SEMANTIC INDICES FOR ACCELERATING SEMANTIC QUERIES ON DATABASES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17546343 titled 'SEMANTIC INDICES FOR ACCELERATING SEMANTIC QUERIES ON DATABASES

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method to speed up cognitive intelligence queries to a database using semantic keys. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • The method uses a computer to insert key-value pairs into a database.
  • The key is a semantic key generated from a binary codeword created by hashing vectors in a database embedding model.
  • The value is a tuple that identifies entries in the database with shared features.
  • These key-value pairs are used to accelerate cognitive intelligence queries to the database.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Improving the speed and efficiency of cognitive intelligence systems that rely on querying databases.
  • Enhancing natural language processing and understanding capabilities by quickly retrieving relevant information from a database.
  • Enabling faster and more accurate data analysis and decision-making processes.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Slow query times and inefficient retrieval of information from databases.
  • Difficulty in finding relevant information quickly in large databases.
  • Inefficient use of computational resources in cognitive intelligence systems.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Faster query times, leading to improved performance and user experience.
  • More efficient use of computational resources, reducing costs and energy consumption.
  • Enhanced capabilities for cognitive intelligence systems, enabling better decision-making and analysis.

Overall, this patent application presents a method to accelerate cognitive intelligence queries to a database using semantic keys, offering potential applications in various fields and addressing problems related to query speed and information retrieval efficiency. The technology brings benefits such as improved performance, resource optimization, and enhanced cognitive capabilities.

Original Abstract Submitted

A computer-implemented method accelerates cognitive intelligence queries to a database using semantic keys. A computing device receives a database. The computing device inserts one or more key-value pairs into the database, where the key is a semantic key that is generated from a binary codeword built from a locality sensitive hashing of one or more vectors in a database embedding model of the database, and where the value is a tuple in the database that identifies entries in the database that share predefined features. The computing device uses the one or more key-value pairs for accelerating cognitive intelligence queries to the database.
