IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18275765 titled 'IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The query acquisition unit acquires first and second query moving images with time-series frame images.

  • The feature value computing unit calculates feature values of keypoints in the first and second frame images.
  • The correspondence relationship determination unit links second frame images to first frame images.
  • The integration unit combines feature values from corresponding first and second frame images to create an integrated query.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in:

  • Video analysis and recognition systems
  • Object tracking in surveillance footage
  • Motion detection in sports analysis

Problems Solved

This technology addresses issues such as:

  • Efficiently matching objects across frames
  • Integrating feature values for improved analysis
  • Enhancing the accuracy of object recognition

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include:

  • Enhanced object tracking capabilities
  • Improved accuracy in motion analysis
  • Streamlined video processing workflows

Potential Commercial Applications

A potential commercial application for this technology could be:

  • Integration into video surveillance systems for enhanced object tracking and recognition capabilities

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be:

  • Existing methods for object tracking and feature integration in video analysis systems

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology handle variations in lighting conditions across frames?

This technology does not specifically address how variations in lighting conditions are handled during the integration of feature values from different frames.

Can this technology be applied to real-time video processing systems?

The abstract does not mention whether this technology is suitable for real-time video processing applications, which could be a crucial factor for certain industries or use cases.

Original Abstract Submitted

A query acquisition unit () acquires a first query moving image having a plurality of time-series first frame images and at least one second query moving image having a plurality of time-series second frame images. A feature value computing unit () computes a feature value of a keypoint detected from an object being included in each of the first frame images and the second frame images. A correspondence relationship determination unit () determines a second frame image associated with each of the plurality of first frame images. An integration unit () performs, for a plurality of combinations of the first frame image and the second frame image associated with each other, processing of integrating the feature values computed from each of the first frame image and the second frame image, and thereby generates an integrated query in which the integrated feature values are arranged in time series.
