VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, STORAGE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR VEHICLE CONTROL, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18228837 titled 'VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, STORAGE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR VEHICLE CONTROL, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a vehicle control device that uses location information on an adjacent lane to determine the positioning of the own vehicle relative to another vehicle.
- The processor sets locations on the adjacent lane to determine if the own vehicle should travel ahead of or behind the other vehicle.
- It checks if the own vehicle is ahead of the other vehicle while the other vehicle moves to a specific location.
- It checks if the own vehicle is behind the other vehicle while the other vehicle moves to a specific location.
- Based on these relationships, the device decides whether the own vehicle should travel ahead of the other vehicle or create a space for the other vehicle to move ahead.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Advanced driver assistance systems
- Autonomous vehicles
- Traffic management systems
Problems solved by this technology:
- Improving traffic flow and efficiency
- Enhancing safety by facilitating smoother lane changes
- Optimizing vehicle positioning in relation to other vehicles
Benefits of this technology:
- Reduced traffic congestion
- Enhanced driving experience
- Increased overall road safety
Original Abstract Submitted
A vehicle control device has a processor configured to set location on an adjacent lane to be used for determining that an own vehicle is to travel ahead of another vehicle and set location on the adjacent lane for determining to create a space allowing the other vehicle to move ahead of the own vehicle, determine whether a relationship is satisfied in which a location of the own vehicle is ahead of the other vehicle while the other vehicle moves to location , determine whether a relationship is satisfied in which a location of the own vehicle is behind the other vehicle while the other vehicle moves to location , and decide to cause the own vehicle to travel ahead of the other vehicle when relationship is satisfied or decide to create a space ahead of the own vehicle when relationship is satisfied.
