a system and method for performing sound quality testing of audio equipment in a conference room is provided, wherein the method can executed by one or more processors, the audio equipment comprising one or more loudspeakers, one or more microphones, and audio signal processing equipment that includes at least an acoustic echo cancellation function, the method comprising: (a) determining an initial audio performance level (iapl) of the audio equipment with the acoustic echo cancellation function disabled at a time t; (b) determining a current audio performance level (capl) of the audio equipment with the acoustic echo cancellation function disabled at a second time, t, which occurs after the first time t; (c) comparing the capl to the iapl; (d) determining if the audio equipment in the conference room passes or fails a sound quality test based on the comparison of the capl to the iapl; and (e) providing the determination of pass or fail of the sound quality test to a remote user at a remote location through a cloud network.
