DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17623278 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL

Simplified Explanation

A display panel is described in this patent application. The panel includes a light-emitting layer with two light-emitting pixels, a first pixel opening in the first light-emitting pixel, and a passivation layer overlapped with the second light-emitting pixel. The height difference between the bottom surface of the color resist in the first and second light-emitting pixel regions enhances the light output rate and performance of the display panel.

  • The display panel includes a light-emitting layer with two light-emitting pixels.
  • A first pixel opening is present in the first light-emitting pixel.
  • The second light-emitting pixel and a passivation layer are overlapped.
  • The height difference between the bottom surface of the color resist in the first and second light-emitting pixel regions is different.
  • This height difference effectively enhances the light output rate and performance of the display panel.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Display panels for electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) displays for high-quality image reproduction.
  • Flexible displays for wearable devices and curved screens.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Enhances the light output rate and performance of the display panel.
  • Improves the overall image quality and brightness of the display.
  • Provides better control over the light emission in different pixel regions.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved visual experience with enhanced brightness and image quality.
  • Increased efficiency in light emission, leading to energy savings.
  • Enables the development of thinner and lighter display panels.
  • Provides better control over color accuracy and contrast ratio.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display panel is provided. A display panel has a light-emitting layer including a first light-emitting pixel and a second light-emitting pixel. A first pixel opening is provided in the first light-emitting pixel. A passivation layer and the second light-emitting pixel are disposed in an overlapped manner. In addition, a height from a bottom surface of a color resist in a first light-emitting pixel region to a substrate is different from a height from a bottom surface of a color resist in a second light-emitting pixel region to the substrate, so that a light output rate and a performance in the display panel are effectively enhanced.
