WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18105606 titled 'WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wearable electronic device that includes a display, a lens frame, a wearing member, a flexible printed circuit board, and a reinforcing member.

  • The wearable electronic device has a display that provides visual information to the user.
  • The lens frame consists of a first frame and a second frame that surround at least a portion of the display.
  • The second frame is coupled to the first frame, creating an internal space within the electronic device.
  • A wearing member is attached to one side of the lens frame, allowing the device to be worn by the user.
  • A flexible printed circuit board is located within the internal space of the device.
  • A reinforcing member is included, which has a higher rigidity than the lens frame.
  • The reinforcing member has a first portion positioned between the flexible printed circuit board and the lens frame.
  • The reinforcing member also has a second portion that extends from the first portion at a predetermined angle, creating a bend.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wearable electronic devices with displays can be used in various industries such as healthcare, sports, and entertainment.
  • The device can provide visual information to the user, such as notifications, health data, or augmented reality content.
  • The wearable nature of the device allows for convenient and hands-free access to information.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The lens frame and reinforcing member provide structural support to the device, ensuring durability and longevity.
  • The bend in the reinforcing member allows for flexibility and comfortable wearing of the device.
  • The flexible printed circuit board allows for efficient and compact integration of electronic components.

Benefits of this technology:

  • The wearable electronic device offers a visually immersive experience to the user.
  • The device is designed to be durable and long-lasting, with the lens frame and reinforcing member providing structural support.
  • The bend in the reinforcing member ensures a comfortable fit for the user.
  • The flexible printed circuit board allows for efficient use of space within the device.

Original Abstract Submitted

A wearable electronic device includes: a display configured to provide visual information to a user; a lens frame including: a first frame, and a second frame. The first frame and the second frame surrounds at least a portion of the display, the second frame being coupled to the first frame to form an internal space of the electronic device. The wearable electronic device further includes a wearing member coupled to at least one side of the lens frame; a flexible printed circuit board disposed within the internal space; and a reinforcing member configured to have a higher rigidity than the lens frame. The reinforcing member includes: a first portion disposed between the flexible printed circuit board and the lens frame, and a second portion extending from the first portion by a predetermined angle to form a bend.
