DISPLAY APPARATUS INCLUDING OVERLAPPING ELEMENTS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17815197 titled 'DISPLAY APPARATUS INCLUDING OVERLAPPING ELEMENTS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a display apparatus that includes various components such as transistors and capacitors. These components work together to transfer data voltage and scan signals, enabling the display to function properly.

  • The display apparatus includes a first transistor with a first semiconductor layer and a first electrode that partially overlaps the layer.
  • A first capacitor is formed by the first electrode and a second electrode that partially overlaps the first electrode.
  • A second capacitor is formed by the second electrode and a third electrode that partially overlaps the second electrode.
  • The display apparatus also includes a first data line for transferring data voltage, and first and second scan lines for transferring scan signals.
  • A second transistor connects the first data line to the second electrode when the first scan signal is received.
  • A third transistor connects the first electrode to the drain of the first transistor when the second scan signal is received.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • This display apparatus can be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • It can also be used in computer monitors, digital signage, and other display systems.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The display apparatus provides a reliable and efficient way to transfer data voltage and scan signals, ensuring proper functioning of the display.
  • It addresses the need for a compact and integrated design that can be easily incorporated into different electronic devices.

Benefits of this technology:

  • The display apparatus offers improved performance and functionality compared to traditional display systems.
  • It provides a compact and space-saving design, allowing for thinner and lighter electronic devices.
  • The efficient transfer of data voltage and scan signals results in enhanced image quality and responsiveness of the display.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display apparatus includes a first transistor including a first semiconductor layer and a first electrode that at least partially overlaps the first semiconductor layer. A first capacitor includes the first electrode and a second electrode that at least partially overlaps the first electrode. A second capacitor includes the second electrode and a third electrode that at least partially overlaps the second electrode. A first data line is configured to transfer a data voltage therethrough. First and second scan lines are configured to transfer first and second scan signals therethrough, respectively. A second transistor connects the first data line to the second electrode in response to the first scan signal. A third transistor connects the first electrode to a drain of the first transistor in response to the second scan signal.
