LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT AND POLYCYCLIC COMPOUND FOR THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17862923 titled 'LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT AND POLYCYCLIC COMPOUND FOR THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a light emitting element that consists of a first electrode, a second electrode, and an emission layer. The emission layer contains a combination of compounds, including a first compound (Formula 1) and at least one of a second compound (Formula HT-1), a third compound (Formula ET-1), and a fourth compound (Formula M-b). This configuration results in a light emitting element with reduced driving voltage and improved efficiency.

  • The light emitting element includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and an emission layer.
  • The emission layer comprises a first compound (Formula 1) and at least one of a second compound (Formula HT-1), a third compound (Formula ET-1), and a fourth compound (Formula M-b).
  • The combination of compounds in the emission layer leads to decreased driving voltage and improved efficiency.

Potential Applications

  • Lighting applications
  • Display technologies (e.g., OLED displays)
  • Signage and advertising displays

Problems Solved

  • High driving voltage requirements in light emitting elements
  • Low efficiency of light emission

Benefits

  • Decreased driving voltage
  • Improved efficiency of light emission

Original Abstract Submitted

A light emitting element according to an embodiment includes a first electrode, a second electrode disposed on the first electrode, and an emission layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The emission layer includes a first compound, and at least one of a second compound, a third compound, and a fourth compound. The first compound is represented by Formula 1, the second compound is represented by Formula HT-1, the third compound is represented by Formula ET-1, and the fourth compound is represented by Formula M-b. Accordingly, the light emitting element has decreased driving voltage and improved efficiency.
