EARLY INDICATION FOR INITIAL ACCESS IN FULL-DUPLEX SYSTEMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17931885 titled 'EARLY INDICATION FOR INITIAL ACCESS IN FULL-DUPLEX SYSTEMS
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method and apparatus for early indication of initial access in full-duplex systems. The method involves receiving configuration information from a system information block (SIB1) and using this information to identify a random access channel (RACH) configuration and an early access indication associated with full-duplex operation. The method further includes determining the appropriate random access transmission configuration based on the condition of the early access indication and transmitting a random access message using the determined configuration.
- The method involves operating a user equipment (UE) in a full-duplex system.
- Configuration information is received from a system information block (SIB1).
- The method identifies a random access channel (RACH) configuration based on the received configuration information.
- The method also identifies an early access indication associated with full-duplex operation based on the received configuration information.
- Based on the condition of the early access indication, the method determines whether to use a first random access transmission configuration or a second random access transmission configuration.
- A random access message is transmitted using the determined random access transmission configuration.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems that use full-duplex operation.
- It can be used in user equipment (UE) devices to improve the efficiency and reliability of initial access procedures.
Problems Solved
- The technology solves the problem of efficiently indicating early access in full-duplex systems.
- It addresses the challenge of determining the appropriate random access transmission configuration based on the condition of the early access indication.
Benefits
- The method and apparatus provide early indication for initial access in full-duplex systems, improving the overall efficiency of the system.
- By using the appropriate random access transmission configuration based on the condition of the early access indication, the method ensures reliable and optimized transmission of random access messages.
- The technology enhances the performance and reliability of user equipment (UE) devices operating in full-duplex systems.
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and apparatuses for early indication for initial access in full-duplex systems. A method for operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a system information block (SIB1) including configuration information, identifying, based on the configuration information, a random access channel (RACH) configuration, and identifying, based on the configuration information, an early access indication associated with a full-duplex operation. The method further includes determining to use a first random access transmission configuration if a condition for the early access indication associated with the full-duplex operation is met or a second random access transmission configuration if the condition is not met and transmitting a random access message using the determined first or second random access transmission configuration.
