USER EQUIPMENTS, BASE STATIONS, AND METHODS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18030941 titled 'USER EQUIPMENTS, BASE STATIONS, AND METHODS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a user equipment (UE) device.

  • The UE device has reception circuitry to receive a first radio resource control (RRC) parameter from a base station.
  • The first RRC parameter includes multiple second RRC parameters for a list of combinations.
  • Each second RRC parameter indicates the number of PDCCH candidates associated with a combination.
  • The UE device has control circuitry to determine the number of PDCCH candidates for the search space set based on the first RRC parameter.
  • The control circuitry also monitors the PDCCH candidates determined by the number of PDCCH candidates.

Original Abstract Submitted

A user equipment (UE) is described. The UE includes reception circuitry configured to receive, from a base station, a first radio resource control (RRC) parameter related to a search space set configuration, wherein the first RRC parameter includes a plurality of second RRC parameters for a list of combinations, each of the second RRC parameters indicates a number of PDCCH candidates associated with a combination; and control circuitry configured to determine, based on the first RRC parameter, the number of PDCCH candidates for the search space set, and to monitor the PDCCH candidates determined by the number of PDCCH candidates.
