A server is an information processing apparatus that is connected to a printer including a replaceable printing head and manages collection of the printing head, the information processing apparatus including a replacement-information acquiring unit configured to acquire replacement information indicating that the printing head was replaced and register the replacement information in a replacement history, an identification-information acquiring unit configured to, when the printing head detached by the replacement is collected, acquire a head ID for identifying the collected printing head and register the head ID in a collection history, a determining unit configured to determine, based on the replacement history and the collection history, whether uncollected head is present, and a notifying unit configured to perform notification when it is determined that the uncollected head is present.
