Provided are an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus capable of easily recognizing movement of debris in a cyst and a control method of the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus. The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus includes a debris specifying unit  that specifies debris in the cyst from each of a first ultrasound image acquired by the image acquisition unit , and a second ultrasound image acquired by the image acquisition unit  by imaging the cyst from the same direction as a direction in a case of capturing the first ultrasound image with respect to the cyst after an external force different from an external force in a case of capturing the first ultrasound image has acted on the cyst or in a state where the external force is acting on the cyst, and a debris movement information providing unit  that provides information regarding movement of the debris, which is specified by the debris specifying unit , in the cyst between the first ultrasound image and the second ultrasound image.
