This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support improved spectrum utilization, such as per band configuration of a maximum quantity of resource elements. In a first aspect, an apparatus for wireless communication includes at least one processor and a memory coupled to the at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to receive scheduling information in accordance with a first maximum quantity of resources, wherein the first maximum quantity is based on a first channel bandwidth, first frequency band information, and a first subcarrier spacing (SCS), wherein the first frequency band information is indicative of a first type of frequency band or a first frequency band. The at least one processor is further configured to transmit or receive a first transmission in accordance with the scheduling information.
