In some cases, a base station may transmit an indication to a user equipment (UE) that a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource indicator (CRI) used to report a selected beam is associated with two or more beams. The UE may then monitor a downlink burst from the bases station, the downlink burst having one or more CSI-RSs for measurement by the UE in accordance with the CRI. Based on performing measurements on the CSI-RSs, the UE may generate and transmit one or more CSI reports to the base station, and the UE may receive a downlink transmission from the base station over a weighted combination of the two or more beams.
